Greek Award

Nikos was awarded by the Mayor of Rethymno, Mr. Georgios Marinakis, on 27 September 2009 - the International Day of Tourism. Nikos was given the award for his significant contribution to tourism through his professional work. In a well attended ceremony in the newly renovated Hall of Culture in Rethymno's Old Town, Nikos was given a framed certificate and a medal decorated with the symbol of Rethymno, two dolphins. This is the first time ever in Greece that an artistic woodturner has been given public recognition.
